The Adventure Begins! (A sneak peek into the Dungeon Crawler Collection)

You know that feeling when you walk into a room and the smell of it just takes you somewhere? 

Well, I've been working on the Dungeon Crawler Collection for a while now, and I'll be honest, it started as a slightly unhinged idea that I couldn't let go of. Fragrance is already storytelling... so what happens when the destination is a stone crypt, a dragon's lair, or the forest floor after rain soaks into the roots? 

Eight scents. The Crypt, The Tavern, The Meadow, The Forest Floor, The Forest Canopy, The Dragon, The Ocean, The Petrichor. These are fragrances meant to enhance your tabletop gaming experience, which, if you are anything like my friends, is all about the vibe.  My inner nerd is giddy with anticipation for this release! 

I have had so much fun balancing true-to-life scent profiles with a touch of creative whimsy. I wanted to create a dungeon crawler set where some of the scents were for atmosphere in certain adventure situations, such as entering a crypt, and they're not ones that you would want permeating your entire house all the time, trust me. But some of the scents are more meandering, and you could put them in an ultrasonic water diffuser just fine (they haven't been tested for heat/flame diffusers, and those tend to degrade the oils, so I don't recommend them). 

Ultimately, these are meant to be tools for the DM or group to build the experience and make it more exciting and immersive. I was really excited about that idea.

These debut at MedFaire, April 10-12, in Norman, OK, and I cannot think of a more fitting place for a first appearance. Come smell them in person.  Tell me which one feels most like your adventure. :)
